Why are we always arguing ?

Blog Post #2
In my opinion, people argue because they want to defend their view on things and sometimes to make the other person question their's. As long as the topic is debatable and not just a contradiction then it can be considered an argument. It is impossible to go through life without encountering or engaging in arguments. Everyone of us is taught to believe in many different things and we develop opinions that are different from many other people's. So when we hear opinions or anything that differs from our then we tend to want to argue our side of it and explain to the other person or people why we think this way.

One way to defend your point in a positive way is to have some legitimate data or statistics to back it up and support your claim. People tend to understand and see more into your position when they have  hardcore evidence shown to them. Another way to prove your point positively would be to have quotes or a conversation from a credible source. These sources could vary from experts, textbooks, athletes, scientists, etc. An opinion from these sources is highly valued since most have experience in the field of your topic. Lastly, another way to support your claim could be by recalling incidents fro the past. Wether they happened a few weeks ago or if its from decades ago.

These may seem easy to do but there are ways to negatively argue your point. I feel as if many people  tend to simply contradict someones statement and call it arguing. If you want to argue then you should try to link your viewpoint to reliable evidence to support it. All of us should try to organize our arguments and avoid basing them solely off of our emotions with no support.

How do I argue ? I want to say that I always have concrete statistics to back up my point but in all honesty I do let my emotions get the better of me when it does to certain topics. However, now that I've learned the ways to argue correctly, I'm going to try and tone that down and base my arguments off reliable support.
